Support Staff Reflections

Here is what previous support therapists have to say about what they learnt on camp:

‘I came on camp to learn about sensory processing, and came away realising that it is just a small piece of the puzzle. You need to bring in the emotional, physical and neuroscience parts too to understand the chlld’

‘I used to shy away from the social emotional goals…since the camp it i something that I consider all the time. social emotional skills, resilience and how that impacts function.’

‘I now (after camp) make the effort to see the child in different environments which has changed how I work with the family for the better..gives a much better picture adding the observation of their everyday environment’

‘Being on camp makes you reflect on what you suggest to families, as now I know some of the things I have suggested in the past are just not practical in a child’s everyday environment or when you are with them all day!’
