Therapy Camp Supports

Are you someone who thrives with practical learning experiences and are keen to learn more about tailoring and implementing individualised interventions for kids in a group setting? Coming to one of our therapy camps as a camp group support in an overnight or day group support role could be the learning opportunity you’ve been looking for!

Here are some reasons why we think coming to camp is an awesome learning opportunity:

  • Practical experience supporting kids to achieve therapy goals in a group setting
  • Supervision and feedback on strategies and therapeutic approaches throughout camp
  • Supporting kids to have a memorable camp experience while growing their skills and toolkit. Being along on the journey to see shifts in learning over the week is a highlight for many of us!
  • Working in a team with therapists who bring a range of expertise from trauma informed interventions to movement based interventions.
  • Pre- camp access to webinars on sensory processing, social skills and self regulation
  • Certificate of attendance for your CPD hours
  • Open doors to grow and develop clinical reasoning and application skills
  • Networking opportunities

What’s Involved?

  • Pre-camp webinars and orientation (all online)
  • Working as a member of one of our camp teams to support kids on camp while learning new approaches, and applying theories in the moment.
  • Option to come during the day or stay for the full overnight camp experience
  • We supply meals, accomodation, activity costs etc

Support Staff Reflections

Here is what previous support therapists have to say about what they learnt on camp:

‘I came on camp to learn about sensory processing, and came away realising that it is just a small piece of the puzzle. You need to bring in the emotional, physical and neuroscience parts too to understand the chlld’

‘I used to shy away from the social emotional goals…since the camp it i something that I consider all the time. social emotional skills, resilience and how that impacts function.’

‘I now (after camp) make the effort to see the child in different environments which has changed how I work with the family for the better..gives a much better picture adding the observation of their everyday environment’

‘Being on camp makes you reflect on what you suggest to families, as now I know some of the things I have suggested in the past are just not practical in a child’s everyday environment or when you are with them all day!’
