Event Details

Tension Release Exercises (TRE) help to release stress from the body but using your natural tremor response. A lot of us are living in high stress states or have experienced a stressful event, this can then show up as tension, bracing or pain in our body. This technique helps to release stress and tension that is held in the body. Once learnt, this tool can be used at home, as needed across the day or as a recovery tool after something has occurred.

If you would like to learn prior to the group you can do this free online self-guided workshop to learn about the practice: https://www.trecourse.com/

Please note:

  • If you have had recent surgery then you need clearance from your medical practitioner that you can engage in exercises to do TRE.
  • Not recommended for individuals who are pregnant unless they have a prior established practice of TRE.
  • TRE is gentle and adaptable to all body types and abilities. If you have any specific needs or mobility concerns, feel free to let the facilitator know so we can support you.
  • As physical tension is released through TRE, it is not uncommon for associated emotions to also surface. It is important to note that participants maintain full control throughout the process, and can pause or stop the tremors at any time. The body naturally regulates the release, and will only process what it perceives as safe within the given environment.
