AALIYA JIN

PBS Practitioner and Therapy Assistant

BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, Aaliya grew up surrounded by nature and animals, developing a deep appreciation for the natural world in its most organic form—just like her appreciation for people in their most authentic selves. She moved to Perth to pursue a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Curtin University, with aspirations to complete a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. Her passion lies in understanding the brain, behaviour, and how these are shaped by experience and environment. Outside of work, Aaliya enjoys hiking, reading, experimenting with musical instruments, and exploring new cafés in search of the perfect coffee and pastry.

Aaliya has a rich background supporting adults and teenagers in Supported Independent Living (SIL), working across roles as a support worker, team leader, and clinical supervisor. In 2025, she shifted her focus to paediatrics, joining Calm & Connected as a Therapy Assistant and more recently registering as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. Her goal is to combine her growing expertise with further clinical training to support children in meaningful, lasting ways.

Aaliya brings energy, creativity, and compassion to her work—often weaving in art, music, and humour to help children tune into their bodies, build self-awareness, and reach their goals. She values playfulness and connection, believing that trust and curiosity form the foundation of therapeutic progress.
