Job Profile: Speech pathologist – Paediatric/Adult – Community NDIS

About the role:
We are looking for a motivated, client-centric, outcome-focused speech pathologist to join our team. You will:
- Provide assessment and intervention to clients with communication and swallowing difficulties to help them achieve and maintain optimal independence and quality of life and participation in a range of environments (academically, emotionally, socially, and vocationally)
- Train carers in communicating effectively with clients, and work with assistants and other professionals to deliver effective therapeutic outcomes to reach functional goals
- Develop augmentative and alternative communication systems tailored to individual clients needs
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Job requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science (Speech Pathologist) degree or approved equivalent
- Certified Practicing Speech Pathology Australia membership
- Working with children check
- NDIS clearance
- Willingness to work within the NDIS system
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
- Knowledge of functional communication and swallowing assessments, interventions and outcome measures
- A passion for assisting clients to reach their full potential
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills
