Fees and Rebates

Calm and Connected aims to provide information and strategies to parents and teachers to support the development of their child. Sessions are designed to give parents and teachers strategies to implement in their daily routine. Our therapists support families and children through giving information, strategies and problem solving for specific goals.

INITIAL APPOINTMENTS & ASSESSMENTS

Once you have been allocated a therapist in our team a pre assessment call will be booked and the caregiver is asked to fill in a pre therapy questionnaire. The pre phone call allows the parent/cargiver to speak to the therapist about all their concerns without needing to say them in front of the child. A face to face session intial appointment is then arranged to allow for the initial assessment. We use a clinical observation approach to the first session which may just look like play or a series of ‘challenges’ that the child is to complete. This assessment is tailored to the ability of the child and what areas have been raised as a concern.

For some children it may be recommended to complete a school observation session to see how they are managing in the classroom. Some parents prefer this to occur before the first home visit so that their child does not recognise the therapist when they are sitting in their classroom.

A report is provided to the caregiver following the initial appointment. This provides an overview of the findings and recommendations. Caregivers can then decide if they wish to continue sessions with the therapist to work on goal areas. This allows caregivers to make informed choices on what areas they would like support with and therefore what therapy the child requires.
