SANDRA CLUES

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

BIOGRAPHY

Sandra grew up in the Perth foothills and completed a degree of OT at Edith Cowan University in 2016. While studying, Sandra volunteered at Calm and Connected’s first Camp Confidence where she discovered the amazing approach of the team and found a true passion for working with children within a therapeutic context.

After briefly working as an OTA at Calm and Connected, Sandra ventured off to Sydney to begin a mentorship and work in a paediatric setting as an OT. After all the bright lights of Sydney, she decided to head back west, but found herself heading north and working on stations instead. Sandra continued to work with children as a governess and enjoyed the freedom of remote living and teaching through School of the Air, while continuing to practice OT through multiple therapy intensive camps and trainings.

Through a holistic, flexible and play-based approach, Sandra works with clients in a variety of settings that are best suited to supporting the client’s goals, including the home, school and community.

Sandra has a passion for neurodevelopmental treatment and uses her knowledge and trainings to guide her practice helping clients develop self-regulation, social skills, emotional-regulation, attention, fine and gross motor development, handwriting, sensory processing and trauma informed care.
