We all learn and develop in different ways. Sometimes we need a bit of help and guidance to understand how to get from A to B and to build the pathways we need to reach our goals! With the early years forming the basis for our future learning and development, Foundational Footprints is a group designed to support 2 – 4 year old children (and their parents/care-givers) to nurture and gather the skills they need to reach their full potential.
Goals of the Group:
Children:
- To develop your child’s foundational skills (with a focus on three areas: self-regulation, social skills and independence) to support them to build the skills they need to engage in their meaningful activities.
- To build skills towards lowering your child’s stressors in:
- Self-regulation
- Sensory processing (8 senses)
- Play
- Gross and fine motor skills
- Social skills
Parents/Caregivers:
- To understand the role of self-regulation and the steps to building and supporting this in your child
