At Calm and Connected we are very passionate about giving parents and teachers information so that they can better understand the children they are supporting. Our philosophy is that parents and teachers are with their children 24/7, where as they may only see a therapist for a short period of time. So it is important that parents and teachers are empowered to carry out the strategies that therapists recommend in our therapy sessions. However getting a strategy is not enough if you don’t know how or when to use it right? So that is why our workshops focus on giving the why and the how. Parents/teachers are then often able to come up with their own strategies that specifically suit their classroom and child.
This full day workshop is for Teachers to learn how to support the self-regulation of their students:
Course Objectives:
Sandra Clues is an Occupational Therapist at Calm and Connected. She is currently studying her Masters of Education and has completed placements towards her degree. Sandra is passionate about the integration of therapy into the classroom as a way of supporting children who have learning and emotional needs. She has a in depth understanding of what impacts a child’s ability to stay calm, regulated and connected to learning and ways that children can be supported in the classroom. Sandra has significant empathy when working with teachers as she understands the complex dynamic of having to support numerous children as well as keeping the focus on meeting academic outcomes.
