There are many different reasons and ways to understand your child’s behaviour. It can be very confusing to know what to read or where to start! So we have put together our top 5 ways that we explain why a child may behaving the way they are to a parent/teacher.

In our therapy session, we cover this information in the first session and parents often have big ‘aha’ moments. It can change your perception of ‘naughty’ behaviour into understanding that the child is communicating that something is hard for them. We find that parents often know that their child isnt just being naughty, but don’t know how to put it into words what is going on for their child, so we have done it for you. Once parents understand this they often want their kids teachers to understand it too! Day 5; The nervous system – how our nervous system processes information and can be geared towards a stress response that triggers behaviour

Day 6; The 5 domains of self regulation – using Stuart Shanker’s model to explain the different areas that we can experience stress in and how each area is then effected when there is a drain

Day 7: Summary video – to help bring it all together a recap each of the models that we looked at. It can be a lot of information packed into a few minutes each day so this video is a small reminder of what we have learnt.
