Boys Camp Out
Boys Camp Out 2017 will be held from Thursday 26th until Saturday 28th April 2018, for 11 to 13 year olds. This overnight trip is a great opportunity for boys to build their friendship and life skills in a fun and supportive environment. There will be many outdoor activities for the boys to develop their skills over the week, including high ropes, tunnels, orienteering, canoeing, crate climb and many more. Boys Camp Out will be highly staffed by two qualified Occupational Therapists and support staff (mix of male and female), who all camp with the boys for the duration of the camp out. There is a maximum of 8 places for boys to join the trip. Parents will receive a daily newsletter with updates from the group.
Drop off time is 9am at the camp site and then a full day of activities begin. Pick up is at 4.30pm from the camp site where a small closing ceremony is held and the opportunity for the boys to show their families all the activity sites.

Trip Dates 2018
Trip dates: Thursday 26th until Saturday 28th April 2018

Pre-trip parent/child interview: Late March/early April
Trip goal setting; March
Trip goals review: one week following the trip, 3 months post trip
- Deposit $350 - due on application
- Final Payment $850 - due by 10th April 2018 (can be made in instalments)
Total Boys Camp Out cost: $1200; includes all meals, accommodation, activities, 1 adult to 2 children ratio, and pre screening session. Please download the generic Boys Camp Out Quote 2017-docx

A follow up home/school visit to implement the strategies gained from camp is also available as part of our home visiting therapy services.

. Please make sure you complete all sections and submit all requested documents to allow your application to be processed. You can either email, post or return your application in person.
A Calm and Connected staff member will call you to offer a place* and send you an invoice to pay the $350 deposit. Your child's position on the trip is not confirmed until this deposit is paid. Please speak to our team is you are awaiting funding approval.
Complete the final instalment by the due dates. You will be issued an invoice to pay these.
A staff member will be in touch to complete your included pre camp interview and assessment session for children new to our service.
*Due to limited places, applications are taken on a "first come, first serve" basis, once all available places have been filled, you will be notified and your child placed on the wait-list.
Is your child appropriate for the trip? Please read the following points and/or call Kate on 0430 645 086 if you are not sure if this camp meets the 'just right' challenge for your child:
- Has had some sleep over experience away from home
- Will be able to interact and communicate with peers with adult support
- Will be able to participate in group experience with adult support
- Has stamina to participate in a full day of activities with downtime available
Please note: this is a technology free trip, please leave all ipads, ipods, phones, computers and electronic games at home. Items will be accepted if they are for communication purposes only.
